Fun Ideas to do together:
- Schedule regular dates - taking the time and effort to plan and schedule regular quality time will give an opportunity for your child to look forward to.
- Morning routine - Maybe 10 minutes a day to do stretches together. Helping you make breakfast. Plan snacks and meals together.
- Bedtime routine - Sneak in some quality time when you go to bedtime. Try to set aside time between TV, dinner, homework, and bed to focus on talking together or read a book together or to them.
- Take pictures of different places you travel to or Selfies - When you have a year’s worth of pictures, have them printed out and make a photo book with Shutterfly. This would be a great gift to give. Priceless!
- Go to the local park - Play on the swings, climb the jungle gym - if yours have one like ours do, slide down the slide, or play in the sand and make sand castles.
- Paintball Park - Me and my family went to a Paintball outing in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Guys against the girls and we had a lot of fun. FYI the girls won. LOL
- Waterparks - There are many waterparks located near you and some you will need to take a bit of a road trip to get to. I am fortunate to have 3 right in here Gurnee, IL. One is Great America Hurricane Harbor off of Grand Ave., the other one is Gurnee Park District Waterpark off of Hunt Club Road, and the third is the brand new indoor one that is opening up May 2018 called Great Wolf Lodge off of Grand Ave. We go to Great America and have season passes every year with their tons of slides and amazing Amusement park, a great place to go and we been to Gurnee Park District every year with Season Passes another Fantastic place to go and slide down there water slide into a 12 foot deep pool. I can't wait to try out the indoor waterpark at the Gurnee Great Wolf Lodge. There is also a water park in Vernon Hills at the Family Aquatic Center Water Park, enjoy a zero-depth leisure pool with 6 lap lanes, zero-depth pool with waterfalls, sprays & jets, 700-foot lazy river, body & inner tube slides and throughout Lake County. - Doing a sleepover with your kids - Hang out and have fun with a living room sleepover or a backyard campout. If your kids like to sneak into your bed, they will just LOVE the chance to sleep in the living room with you or the great outdoors right out in your very own backyard. So grab a sleeping bag or blanket, and pillow and relax. Toast some marshmallows and drink Apple cider
- Do household chores together - If your kids have regular chores, maybe pick one day a week when you are not rushed and do them together. They will get to learn new life skills, and you both will get more quality time to spend together!
- Fly a Kite - There some forest preserves that have tons of open space for you to Fly your kites. just as long as it is not too windy out and blow your kite away.
- Go fishing - My kids go fishing and love it. They do throw the fish back in if they catch one. We don't actually bring them and I don't want to clean and cook it. LOL
- Go to the movies - Gurnee Marcus Cinema and other Marcus locations always have kids movies. This summer they will be playing Kids Dream Movies for $3 every Monday through Wednesday and Saturdays and Sundays starting June 24, 2018, but you can get them for free. My family goes to the theater every Tuesday for the $5 movie nights, because not only are the tickets cheaper for regular shows, you also get a Free bag of popcorn with their rewards Magical club card. This is just a tad bit of things to do with your kids, but for now, enjoy every moment you have with them.
